Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her mother was at home as a mother. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. McCormick has always loved dancing, singing and performing puppet shows. She won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 and was approached by Pat Domigan, a talent agent of the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to join the business of show production. McCormick was chosen to play in her first major performance in 1964 on an tv commercial featuring Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play The Wind It up until It breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, which was chosen out of 1500 auditioned children, was cast as the oldest of three double-headed daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969) with Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. This show lasted for five years. McCormick's autobiography Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in the year 2008. In it she revealed the fact that McCormick nearly lost her virginity on the sets of the show in its fifth season to Barry Williams. In 2008, she revealed in her book Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, that during the fifth season of the show, she was close to losing her virginity to actor Barry Williams. It was a time that would have not been ideal for us, she informed me.
